Laura Müller: What can you expect in the future?

Laura Müller turns 20 on July 30. In 2018 she became known as Michael Wendler's girlfriend. What will the future bring her?

Laura Müller celebrates her 20th birthday on July 30, 2020. The wife of pop singer Michael Wendler (48, middle-class: Michael Norberg) already had a path to the public with her young years, which was lined with headlines and negative comments. The reason: she met the pop star at the age of 18, the couple separated by an age difference of 28 years. But Laura Müller did not allow herself to be put off by critics and tried to prove herself on the side of the singer – as well as away from it.

Fateful encounter at the age of 18

Laura Müller was born in 2000 in the tranquil town of Tangermünde, in Saxony-Anhalt, and grew up in the Miltern district. From her 10th birthday, Müller lived alternately with mother and father, who got divorced. When she was 16, she moved entirely to her father. In 2018, her life turned upside down: she met Michael Wendler at a concert in Berlin. "There we talked and that's how it all started," the singer described in an Instagram question and answer meeting with Müller in 2019. For him it was love at first sight. From the beginning, Müller had to justify her relationship: "To all those who always claim that I was still 17: I unfortunately have to disappoint you. At this point I was already 18", she also clarified via Instagram.

From March 2019, Müller was accompanied on the VOX program "Goodbye Germany! The Emigrants", as friend Michael Wendler regularly visited in his adopted home Florida. Her plan to drop out of school and follow the pop singer to the USA sparked discussions. Even Michael Wendler was not enthusiastic about dropping out of school one year before leaving school, but was unable to stop his girlfriend. Another appearance on German TV followed in July 2019: The couple took part in the RTL show "The Summer House of Stars – Fight of Celebrity Couples".

A career without the Wendler?

In early 2020, Laura Müller landed two lucrative jobs that she managed without Michael Wendler. On the one hand, she did a shoot for "Playboy" and adorned the cover of the men's magazine in February. On the other hand, she took part in the 13th season of "Let's Dance" from the end of February and finished sixth in the RTL dance show. At the time, her fans were able to pursue her life with Michael Wendler in the documentary soap "Laura and the Wendler – totally in love with America".

In the program, Müller made it clear, among other things, that she would like to earn her own money, also as an influencer. So far, she has already been able to collect 590,000 Instagram followers (as of July 2020). Originally, she planned to study German and history as a teacher. But her center of life is now America and because of her fame she can no longer work in the profession anyway. In Cape Coral, Florida, she enjoys the seclusion of the German public. In Germany, she "can't even go out on the street without being recognized."

Church wedding and plans for young people

Aside from her professional plans, her path will continue to be on Michael Wendler's side: "No matter how much headwind we get and will get. You are the man of my dreams and I will always stand by you," wrote Müller in 2019 in one Instagram post. "We have so many goals that we want to achieve. We are starting into a fantastic future for two with your wonderful daughter and my wonderful family." In the documentary soap "Laura and the Wendler – totally in love with America", the couple also expressed their desire to have children: "I will see myself married in ten, fifteen years, with children, gladly also two," explained Michael Wendler with the consent of his – back then – girlfriend.

But first there is another wedding celebration: The couple would like to let their fans participate in the last step of the personal happy ending and have their church wedding accompanied by TV cameras. The engagement was celebrated in April, and the civil wedding took place in June. The wedding was supposed to be celebrated in front of cameras on August 2 in Las Vegas, but had to be postponed to autumn due to the corona pandemic. TV appearances, influencer jobs, married life with Michael Wendler – what will Laura Müller expect in the future?

Laura Müller remains Laura Müller

Nena Schink, author of the book "Unfollow! How Instagram destroys our lives", predicted in February 2020 in an interview with spot on news: "I think Laura Müller will make a lot of money. She now seems to be very clever about it all The ‘Let's Dance’ participation ennobles her. I also thought her decision was wise not to go to the jungle camp. If she continues to use her career opportunities as well, she may soon be more famous than Michael Wendler. "

In order for her to succeed, Laura Müller has at least made sure that she will continue to be perceived by the public as the Laura Müller brand. The background: to the annoyance of Michael Wendler's ex-wife Claudia Norberg (49), she had adopted the name Norberg when she married. But then Laura Müller changed her Instagram name back to "Laura Sophie Müller". In an interview with RTL, she said: "I will always be Laura Müller in public." But: "The biggest compliment is to be called like his husband. We are connected, we are one and nothing should separate us."
