This Saturday, May 14, France 2 broadcast the Eurovision final. To present this new edition, Laura Pausini was at the helm alongside Mika and Alessandro Cattelan. However, the Italian singer was absent for a long time after feeling unwell.

The grand finale of Eurovision was broadcast this Saturday, May 14 on France 2. For this 66th edition, forty countries have embarked on a fierce competition. The masters of ceremony were Mika, Laura Pausini and Alessandro Cattelan. One thing is certain, the trio caused a sensation on the stage of the PalaOlimpico, in Turin, Italy. The three international artists displayed a great bond and were not lacking in humor. In addition, they offered incredible services, which dazzled. Nevertheless, the emotion and the energy displayed by Laura Pausini were so intense that the singer felt unwell during the presentation of Eurovision.

After performing a medley of her greatest hits to introduce this evening, Laura Pausini dazzled her audience by regularly changing outfits. However, all that energy expenditure got the better of her. For more than an hour, the singer was missing, leaving Mika and Alessandro Cattelan alone at the controls of this 66th edition of Eurovision. This absence intrigued all viewers. Nevertheless, it was justified by Stéphane Bern, present alongside Laurence Boccolini to comment on the evening in French. “She got sick“, thus explained this enthusiast of history. The interpreter of “La solitudine” returned to the stage at the end of the counting of the votes of the international jurors. To justify her absence, she said with a smile: “I had a surplus of emotions.” Luckily, she looked good and beamed in her gold-colored dress.

Ukraine, big winner of Eurovision

Around 1 a.m., the verdict was in. If last year it was the Italian rock group Måneskin who won the trophy, this year the victory had a slightly more political and solidarity flavor. While the UK dominated throughout the count, winning the most votes from international jurors, the public votes tipped everything. Finally, it was Ukraine that won this 66th edition of Eurovision, bringing a little joy and comfort to this country at war. France, for its part, found itself at the bottom of the ranking, in rising to second to last place.
