Sebastien Marnier is back! Three years after the very successful L’Heure de la sortie, which had revealed a handful of young actors, the director of Irréprochable presents us with a thriller which promises to be elegant to say the least, given the images unveiled a few days before its release. presentation at the Venice Film Festival.

As in his two previous feature films, secrets and pretense are on the program of The Origin of Evil, the story of a family in which lies seem to float between the walls of their luxurious villa by the sea. Characters that the story will make us discover thanks to Stéphane (Laure Calamy), the hidden daughter of Serge (Jacques Weber).

A new family whose heroine will also discover the secrets… and the lies, as both this trailer and the poster remind us, which affirms that “Someone is Lying”. But who ? Everybody ? And is Stéphane who she claims to be, to begin with?

So many mysteries that should be solved from October 5, with what will be one of the French events of the fall, at the crossroads of La Fleur du Mal by Claude Chabrol and an opus by Alfred Hitchcock.
