Emmanuel Macron proposed, last Wednesday, to the social partners not to raise the legal retirement age to 65, as he promised during his campaign, but to 64, in return for an increase in the contribution period to benefit from a full pension. An opening to which, in an interview with Figaro, Laurent Berger, the secretary general of the CFDT, answers in the negative. He explains why.

Lawrence Berger. – Some have spoken of an outstretched hand from the president, but it is not. By making this proposal, he favors political compromise over social compromise, addressing more LR and centrist deputies than social partners.
