Laurent Ruquier condemned: this pharaonic sum that he must pay to Catherine Barma

Laurent Ruquier lost his case against Catherine Barma, according to information from Télérama, relayed on Monday June 20, 2022. He was ordered to pay her a pharaonic sum.

Since the end of the show We are not in bed in 2020, Laurent Ruquier is at war with Catherine Barma. Indeed, the 76-year-old producer sued his former collaborator after he decided to change the production company to launch his show We are live. For his part, the host of France 2 sued him in order to obtain payments for the last shows recorded before the end of the program.

According to information relayed on Monday, June 20 by TeleramaLaurent Ruquier finally lost his case at first instance.Hugo Manos’ companion was ordered to pay a pharaonic sum of almost a million euros damages. The court would have condemned the 59-year-old man to pay 780,340 euros to Catherine Barma for compensate for the loss of margin suffered by the production company”due to insufficient notice of termination“. To this sum are also added 219,375 euros in order to compensate the “redundancies caused by the brutality of the break“.

Laurent Ruquier will appeal the court decision

Faced with the court’s decision, Laurent Ruquier does not intend to stop there. Asked by Teleramahis lawyer Céline Astofle announced that he would immediately appeal the decision. According to her, her client found this decision to be “totally unfair“.

If the host of We are live wishes to appeal, it is because he hopes for a conviction for his former producer. In effect, he demands the payment of 315,891 euros. According to information from Capitalthis large sum “should have been paid to him according to the co-production contract of the Saturday evening talk show”. The matter therefore seems far from over.
