After taking the reins of the “Big Heads” in 2014, RTL’s flagship host extends the experience. He should therefore be present for the 50th anniversary of the show.

Phe after celebrating his 60th birthday, Laurent Ruquier received a nice gift from RTL: his four-year extension to the Big heads. It was the host himself who announced it in an interview with JDDreleased this Saturday, April 8.
At the controls of the show since 2014, the successor of Philippe Bouvard should therefore still be at the helm on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Big heads. “It’s a great sign of the resort’s confidence,” he rejoices. ““The Big Heads” is like Tintin”
The show, born in 1977 from a tete-a-tete between Philippe Bouvard and Jacques Martin, is still a success on the radio, even if it has just passed for the first time under one million listeners. Far from worrying the host who is rather delighted to monopolize the first place of the most followed European emissions. “We can’t continue to do the same live scores in the afternoon, while developing podcasts that are getting big scores with a younger audience. »
This success, he explains it by a return to the fundamentals of the show, “as Bouvard had created it: culture, gaudriole and improvisation”. But after nearly 10 years at the head of entertainment, he knows that it is necessary to be able to evolve in order to continue to exist, in particular by “the presence of new Big heads every year, like the arrival of Christophe Barbier, Paul El Kharrat, Rachel Khan, Sébastien Thoen, Jérémy Ferrari or the return of Roselyne Bachelot”. He would also like to “bring back Muriel Robin and welcome Édouard Baer”. The show itself is also changing. If he continues to prepare his questions alone, “without an author, every morning from 6 a.m. from the press or encyclopedias”, the few changes are in the different sequences that punctuate the program, such as the appearance “fake news” during confinement. “Or the mystery guest, who we will probably abandon,” announced Laurent Ruquier.
