Asked by our colleagues from France Sunday, Laurent Voulzy was asked about a future collaboration with Véronique Jannot. The singer then talks about his project.
He is the godfather of the association Aïna, Enfance et Avenir. Laurent Voulzy is a committed artist. On the occasion of the 13th edition of Glisse in Le Grand-Bornand, our colleagues from France Sunday went to meet the singer who spoke about his commitments for underprivileged children but also on his musical and personal projects. Thus, to the question “Your ex-girlfriend Véronique Jannot admitted to having a great desire to do a duet with you again. Would you be up for it?”the response of the interpreter of Joan is very clear: “She’s been telling me about it for years,” he begins to declare, laughing.
Laurent Voulzy then returns to his collaboration with Véronique Jannot: “We still haven’t done it again since our song Desire, Desire, but you never know. It’s not yet a project but a desire. Maybe we will… Why not?”he asks himself. The opportunity also for the singer to return to his contamination with Covid-19 which affected him in 2021 : “It’s true that because of the pandemic I wasn’t able to sing last year. At the beginning of this one I couldn’t either because I was coming out of an operation cervical arthritis”, he reveals. A state of health that remains worrying all the same: “Unfortunately, last month, it was still impossible for me to sing or carry a guitar. I accumulate a little, but today, it’s fine”, reassures the singer.
Laurent Voulzy: “I didn’t like myself at all when I saw myself”
Laurent Voulzy has also resumed his concerts in cathedrals. But besides his musical career, the artist also played last year in the TV movie Murders in Marie-Galantebroadcast on France 3. An experience he liked but whose result did not satisfy him at all : “But I’m going to tell you a secret, I didn’t like myself at all when I saw myself”he said, laughing. “You know I’m a perfectionist: I already have a lot of trouble hearing myself, I’m never happy when I record, I always have to start over fifty thousand times”.
