Another star joins the anti-heroes of “The Boys”. Laurie Holden will play Crimson Countess in season three.

Actress Laurie Holden (51), series fans best known for her performance of Andrea from “The Walking Dead”, will play a leading role in the third season of the highly acclaimed Amazon Prime series “The Boys”. The US-American site “Variety” reports exclusively. Accordingly, Holden will embody the superhero Crimson Countess in the new episodes.

The cast grows and grows

Thus, the cast around superhero scare William “Billy” Butcher (Karl Urban, 49) continues to grow. It had already been announced that other stars would join the cast of the bloody and ludicrous series. Including Sean Patrick Flanery (55) as Gunpowder, Miles Gaston Villanueva (32) as Supersonic and Nick Wechsler (42) as Blue Hawk. The most notable newcomer for season three, however, is Jensen Ackles (43). The star, whose long-running series “Supernatural” recently ended, now embodies the character Soldier Boy in “The Boys”.

The series is based on the comic of the same name by Garth Ennis (51) and Darick Robertson (53), who cleverly reverses the roles of supposed superheroes and villains. Since the shooting of the new season only started in February of this year, a release is not expected until 2022.
