LCK: SSONG gets Kim’s job as coach at DRX

We had learned last week the departure of coach Kim from DRX in LCK, today, the Korean team announces the promotion of SSONG, who had already officiated in this place.

Last week, we first learned the dismissal of Kim, the coach of the DRX roster, then, shortly after, his dismissal. The Korean team, playing in LCK on League of Legendshad made the choice to separate from his coach to “the restructuring and sustainable future of DRX”. Kim allegedly violated some of his head coaching obligations, stipulated in his contracthowever, the organization had not shared more details about it.

To replace it, it is therefore Kim “SSONG” Sang-soo reclaiming the head coach position. Present in the workforce since last May, he had mainly provided interim for the spring split 2021 after cvMax, the former coach of the structure, was suspended for physical and verbal abuse to the players he previously managed at Griffin.

While DRX had started the season badly, with three losses in a row and despite the cases of Covid which broke out in its workforce last weekthe team is currently in 4th place in the LCK Spring Split 2022. She is on a superb series of 5 championship victories, for a ratio of 5-3. With SSONG at the head of the roster, we are therefore waiting to see what strategic decisions the new coach intends to put in place to maintain this winning streakDRX facing this week DWG KIA and Hanwha Life Esports.
