Le Flambeau on CANAL +: is Jonathan Cohen planning a season 3?

Canal + is broadcasting the last episodes of the series “Le Flambeau, the adventurers of Chupacabra” tonight. After The Bachelor and Koh-Lanta, has Jonathan Cohen planned to parody a new reality TV show for a possible season 3 of “La Flamme”?

Survival is coming to an end for the adventurers of Chupacabra, and the 450 euros promised to the winner have never been so close. It is indeed tonight that Canal + subscribers will be able to discover the last three episodes of the event series Le Flambeau, which brilliantly parodies the TF1 Koh-Lanta show.

After the elimination of Yvan the plotter (Thomas Scimeca), the candidates will be confronted with the arrival on the island of a disturbing Mexican “pastry chef”, determined to find his precious “Farina”. Before living their very last test and saying goodbye to the fine sand of Chupacabra to join the studios of Marne-la-Vallée where the grand final will take place live.

As was already the case during La Flamme, the nine episodes of Le Flambeau form a closed plot, since the entirety of this true-false adventure game is told over the course of the season.

But for all that, could the concept carried by Jonathan Cohen be entitled to a season 3 during which we could, once again, follow the adventures of Marc, Chataléré (Camille Chamoux), Alexandra (Lëila Bekhti), Soraya (Adèle Exarchopoulos), Anne (Ana Girardot), or even Dr. Juiphe (Pierre Niney) in a new reality TV show?

“I do not know”answered us last April the main actor, director, and screenwriter of Le Flambeau when we asked him about the possibility of a third season during the Canneseries Festival. “We have already switched to season 2 (originally it was about a season 2 of La Flamme centered on a Bachelorette, as in the original series Burning Love, editor’s note). And there, for the moment, I don’t I have no idea”.

“I’m just going to finish the season. I’m going to go all the way and try to do this the best I can”continues Jonathan Cohen. “That is to say going back to the little box and working 15 hours a day on the editing if necessary to deliver on time and make the best possible series so that people laugh and have a great time. And after , we’ll see. I’m going to rest a bit. I think that I worked a lot there but it’s only kif, so thank you life”.

At the moment, a season 3 does not seem (yet) on the agenda. But given the success of Le Flambeau on Canal+ and MyCANAL, with 10 million views in just 10 days for the first six episodes, it would not be surprising if the channel wanted to follow up on the delusions of MAAAAAAAAARC, our pilot preferred line.

A parody of Secret Story? From Temptation Island? Or even Star Academy, when the successful tele-hook will soon make its big comeback from TF1? The possibilities are many. And we can’t wait to find out what Jonathan Cohen and his acolytes could have in store for us in the event of new episodes.
