Le Flambeau: was the series really shot in Mexico?

While season 1 of “Le Flambeau, The adventurers of Chupacabra” started last night on CANAL +, find out where the parody series by and with Jonathan Cohen was filmed.

Canal + broadcast this Monday, May 23, the first three episodes of Flambeau, the adventurers of Chupacabra, the sequel to La Flamme, a parody series written by Jonathan Cohen who created the event during its broadcast in October 2020.

And for this new season, exit the villa and its suitors since Marc, who is always a heart to take, finds himself embarked against his will in an adventure game on a desert island. The contenders who were fighting to become the chosen one of his heart gave way to 15 candidates who will compete to survive in a hostile environment!

Where was The Torch filmed?

In the first seconds of the opening episode of Le Flambeau, the presenter, played by Jérôme Commandeur, announces that the 15 castaways are going to make their adventure on the Mexican coast and more precisely in the Chupacabra archipelago.

If the grandiose landscapes and the fine sandy beaches leave room for doubt as to the filming location of the series, it is indeed in France that the teams have put down their suitcases.

Indeed, contrary to what Canal+ had hinted at the announcement of this season 2, it was Corsica which served as the backdrop for the shots which began in September 2021. And thanks to the talents of the decorators ( and probably thanks to nature itself), the beaches of the island of beauty look like the paradisiacal settings often used in shows like Koh Lanta.

Does the Chupacabra Archipelago really exist?

The answer is no. Jonathan Cohen, David Caviglioli, Hugo Benamozig, Freddy Gladieux, Jérémie Galan and Florent Bernard, the scriptwriters of Le Flambeau, completely invented this idyllic-looking archipelago. And between “Isla Mebien”, “Isla Racont” and “Isla Tapgrav”, the names of each of these islands leave little room for doubt as to the existence of this archipelago.

Find new episodes of Flambeau, the adventurers of Chupacabra every Monday evening from 9 p.m. on Canal+. Season 1 of La Flamme can be found in full on MyCANAL.
