EXCLUSIVE

Noël Le Graët, the president of the French Football Federation (FFF), is the exceptional guest of Europe 1 Sport this evening. During this exclusive interview, he mentioned the contract of Didier Deschamps, coach of the France team since 2012. Will the latter’s contract be renewed? Who to replace him, in due course? While the name of Marseillais Christophe Galtier, current coach of OGC Nice, is regularly mentioned, the president of the FFF gave some answers to the microphone of Lionel Rosso from the sports department of Europe 1.

“Look what this man has done”

Is the Galtier track credible? “We are not going to say today ‘hey Le Graët said that’ the games are made for the ex-coach of LOSC Lille”, explained the president. However, he had specified that Zinedine Zidane could possibly be coach of the France team, then opposed Lionel Rosso to him. “Obviously,” replied Noël Le Graët. “But then Galtier too.”

And to add: “Look what he did this man.” While being “very honest” about the performance of Christophe Galtier, whom he “barely knew”. The president of the FFF affirmed that “what he did in Lille, and what he does in Nice deserves respect”. According to him, his track record makes him “an excellent French coach”. His nationality also plays in his favor since Noël Le Graët does not imagine any other possibility: “If ever Didier were to leave us, which is far from done, he will be a Frenchman anyway.”
