To train their LLMs, companies actually use immense quantities of text available on the Internet, whether subject to copyright or not. The company therefore decided to take a different approach by entering into financial agreements with content providers, like the World and the Spanish group Prisa Media. More and more media outlets are establishing such partnerships with AI giants. Last year, press publisher Axel Springer and the agency Associated Press have also signed agreements with OpenAI to explore the use of generative AI in the information domain.
