They are lawyers, artists, soldiers, business leaders, scientists. Some are famous, others unknown to the general public. All of them have in common a great career and a unique trajectory that has the power to inspire the younger generation. These women are all featured in the issue of Parisian Weekend published this Friday which devotes a file to the 50 most inspiring French women.
“A few weeks before the presidential election, we have five women in the race, and not on the smaller parties. We also now have three women at the head of the CAC40 company. And, five years after MeToo, we see that the speech has been released and not only on the issue of sexual violence. In this, we are in a moment of change”, analyzes at the microphone of Europe 1 Christine Monin, the editor-in-chief of this project.

“And, at the same time, we still have, in France, in the 21st century, inequalities that persist, particularly in terms of wages and job insecurity”, she nuances. “So it was important to ask the question of the place of women and to highlight women who are invested, daring and innovative.”
Among these women, we find in the file portraits of celebrities from different fields such as tennis player Amélie Mauresmo, videographer and influencer Léna Mahfouf (alias Léna Situations), rabbi Delphine Horvilleur and journalist Marie Portolano. Others are not yet known, but The Parisian affirms that they will be talked about in the coming years, whether they come from the world of gastronomy, cybersecurity, cinema, or even Formula 1.
Between 300 and 400 profiles offered
To select these fifty women, the editorial staff worked with all the journalists of the Parisian and Parisian Weekend. “It’s nearly 400 journalists who made us trace the women who, according to them, distinguished themselves in their field and were going to count the next years”, explains Christine Monin. “We received between 300 and 400 proposals and we sorted to keep only 50. It’s sometimes a little frustrating, because there are still plenty that we would have liked to put in this file We also took care of the variety of backgrounds of these women, their origins, their ages, to have a female panel of French society.”
