Gérard Jugnot returns with a very family comedy around singing: Le Petit Piaf follows the itinerary of an apprentice singer on Reunion Island. Here’s why your kids might be tempted by the movie.

Once upon a time : In a village in Reunion, 10-year-old Nelson dreams of becoming a great singer and thus making his mother proud, who is raising him alone. After applying for the TV show Star Kids with the help of his friends Mia and Zizou, they decide to find a coach to prepare for his competition. Luckily, Pierre Leroy, a famous singer with a career at half mast, is on tour on the island. But the current passes with difficulty between Pierre, solitary and disenchanted, and Nelson proud and obstinate. Their only common point, the love of singing. Will he be strong enough to bring them closer? Strong enough for Nelson to reconnect with his mother and for Pierre to rediscover the desire for his beginnings?
What they will love: Le Petit Piaf should make anyone passionate about singing vibrate. This comedy carried by a group of children is surfing on the trend of singing competitions for children, in line with The Voice Kids. The film tells precisely about the singer’s dreams of the hero, and children should quite logically identify with them. Additionally, Nelson’s character will first grope, which makes identification even more possible.
The hero of this film is none other than Soan Arhimann, one of the winners of The Voice Kids, which is the first role in the cinema. Remember that the name of Marc Lavoine is associated, for the youngest, with this tele-hook show since he is one of the jurors.

What can worry them : The film is very good-natured, and was imagined as a family film above all. Apart from perhaps the slightly gruff and embittered character of Marc Lavoine at the beginning of the film, nothing very worrying in Le Petit Piaf, which is a film designed primarily for a child audience.
