Le Sens de la fête on TF1: why your wedding could look like this


Find out why the rather incredible marriage of the “Sense of the party”, signed by the duo behind “Intouchables”, could quite occur in real life.

Le Sens de la fête tells the story of a wedding like no other, where the brigade in charge of the organization suffers setbacks after setbacks. But the successive incidents in this comedy aren’t “just cinema,” and you just might experience a wedding like this, and here’s why.

At the beginning of their career, between 1992 and 2002, the directors Eric Toledano and Olivier Nakache had to finance their short films and to do this, they did a lot of odd jobs in weddings, including that of waiter, drivers, ambiancers or of photographers.

“So we had lived behind the scenes, felt the pressure of this profession and gleaned many anecdotes on the subject”recalls Nakache. “But while writing, we wanted to dive back into today’s server brigades, to see how all of these people work behind the scenes to make events extraordinary. It was during these wanderings that we started to draw our characters.

For Le JDD, it completes: “I remember that we took turns at 4 a.m. in the cars to sleep, that we often had back pain from loading and unloading equipment. But these are not memories of the hassle. allowed to meet a whole gallery of characters.”

As for Eric Toledano, he pays tribute to the adaptability of caterers: “[Ce] are small companies with always a cousin, someone who cannot come, an assistant who would like to progress… At best, they have two or three evenings each week. It is therefore also an environment where many people combine different jobs. The policeman who does extras, we did not invent him.”
