On the occasion of the broadcast of the film Le Tatoué on Sunday March 6, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on C8, Télé Star reveals to you which actor was the best paid on this feature film between Jean Gabin and Louis de Funès.
Released in cinemas in 1968,the movie called The tattooed, worn by John Gabin and Louis de Funeswill be rebroadcast on Sunday March 6, 2022, from 9:05 p.m. on C8. Directed by Denys de La Patellièrethis feature film was conceived as a “blow” commercial by the producer Maurice Jacquin at the time, which relied on the enormous popularity of the two main actors to ensure a certain triumph at the box office. The film recounts the misadventures of the character of Félicien Mezeray, portrayed on screen by Louis de Funes. This art dealer wants at all costs to buy back a tattoo made by Modigliani carried on his back by a former legionnaire named The seed, interpreted byJohn Gabin.
For this, he offers her in exchange to have her country house renovated, without knowing that this one is a 12th century castle in ruinsbecause The seed actually happens to be a penniless count and castellan. If the shooting of this feature film was exceptionally carried out in the order of the story, it is in fact because the shots have started while the writing of the screenplay was still not completed. Initially, it was Alphonse Boudard who wrote the first versions of the script. The story was very different then. of that which the spectators were able to discover in theaters, in particular with regard to the evolution of the relationship between the two main characters.
Le Tatoué: a higher cachet for Louis de Funès compared to Jean Gabin
Finally, failing to arrive at a suitable scenario, Alphonse Boudard preferred to abandon the project. Dialogue writer Pascal Jardin was then hired by the production to try to finish the script on time, to no avail. Ultimately, director Denys de La Patellière was forced to start filming without a real script. He was also forced to stage The tattooed in chronological order of the story, in order to follow the writing work of Pascal Jardin, who wrote the scenes on a daily basis.
For the record, Louis de Funès received more money than Jean Gabin on this film. Indeed, the first was granted a fee of 150 million old francs, against only 100 million old francs for his playing partner. A difference which is explained by the fact that films featuring Louis de Funès brought in more money than those in which Jean Gabin played at the time.
