“Le temps de l’amour” taken up by a former Dancing with the Stars candidate for a strong tribute

On the occasion of the Fête de la Musique and the concert broadcast on France 2 on June 22, a famous singer who recently stood out on the floor of Dancing with the Stars caused a sensation with a moving cover of a hit by Francoise Hardy.

On June 20, we paid tribute to Francoise Hardy at the Père Lachaise cemetery, a little over a week after his son Thomas Dutronc had announced his death on social networks through a heartbreaking message. Many personalities gathered for the occasion, including political figures such as the First Lady Brigitte Macron – boo -, but also and above all artists including Laurent Voulzy, Matthieu and Louis Chedid, Jacques Dutronc of course, but also Etienne Daho and Sheila who had both shared moving testimonies of their pain on social networks.

The interpreter of So many beautiful things who died at the age of 80, died of cancer which she had spoken about on several occasions, was cremated and her ashes were to be scattered in a place that meant a lot to her. However, as several political figures including Prime Minister Gabriel Attal and Marine Le Pen have recalled, no one will forget him and his mark on French song remains indelible. So much so that we wanted to pay tribute to him again on France 2 on June 22, on the occasion of the concert organized in Reims for the 2024 Music Festival.

A Canadian woman falls back into adolescence on France 2

The show was hosted by former Miss France Laury Thilleman and Garou, and saw many currently very fashionable talents parade on stage, including Slimane, Vitaa, Amir, Matt Pokora who has just made an unexpected announcement, and even the duo Amadou & Mariam, Jérémy Frérot, and other tenors including Lara Fabian, Patrick Bruel and Axelle Red. But it is indeed up to the Canadian singer Pirate’s heart which was requested to remind viewers of the disappearance of Françoise Hardy. The interpreter of Like children decided to revisit his hit that evening The time of love. She revived the song published in 1962 on the album All the boys and girls, and whose eponymous title has also stood the test of time. We particularly remember the alternative version of Bon Entendeur published three years ago.

During an interview given to France Blue which broadcast in parallel with France 2 recording the show, Cœur de Pirate explained the impact of Françoise Hardy’s repertoire on her career and her artistic sensitivity. “When I reconnected with singing in French, I listened to Françoise Hardy. It was my introduction to the yéyés period. It was my transition to music in French as I could imagine doing it”she said with a certain enthusiasm.

The busy year 2024 for Coeur de Pirate

The year 2024 of Cœur de Pirate got off to a flying start with its participation in the competition Dance with the stars of TF1. The mother of Romy and Arlo walked on the floor on the arm of Nicolas Archambault, but she was also quickly eliminated after Caroline Margeridon. Her presence will therefore not have had as much impact as those of Inès Reg and Natasha St-Pier who clashed behind the scenes, which gave rise to a major controversy in the media world, or even Nico Capone and the drag queen Keiona.
