In 2017, Léa Seydoux revealed to be part of Harvey Weinstein's victims. In a column published by The Guardian, the actress had testified of her meeting with the producer in a hotel room. A chilling testimony in which she confessed to having been sexually assaulted by the former Hollywood tycoon. "We were talking on the couch when he suddenly jumped on me and tried to kiss me. I left, completely disgusted, but I was never afraid of him because I knew from the start who I was dealing with", she wrote.

Three years later, Léa Seydoux probably took a step back from this affair. "What I wanted to say is that I was not victimizing myself, that I was aware of what was going on … I'm not naive, that's all", she said in an interview with the magazine Harper’s bazaar, which dedicates the cover of its May edition to him. And give his opinion on the #MeToo movement: "There is a lot of hypocrisy. Because people knew it! And now, they take the opportunity to say: ‘Yes, I was a victim ’ and become heroes. Come on! A hero, for me, would forgive (…) We all need forgiveness, right?"

According to Léa Seydoux, the #MeToo movement has above all "scared men". "It’s good to be a feminist, but we also have to be ‘masculinists’. And vice versa. Men must be feminists. We must support each other", continues the star of the saga James Bond, who became the mother of a little boy. As a reminder, Harvey Weinstein was sentenced to 23 years in prison by the Manhattan Criminal Court on Wednesday March 11. A first victory for the #MeToo movement which, three years after its emergence, is still in full swing on social networks.
