15-year-old Adam Kadyrov is honored as a “Hero of Chechnya.” The reasoning praised his leadership qualities, his knowledge of the Koran and his martial arts. However, there is no mention of his beating attack on a defenseless person.

According to official information, the 15-year-old son of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov, Adam Kadyrov, has been awarded the high order of “Hero of Chechnya”. Duma deputy and Kadyrov’s cousin Adam Delimkhanov justified the awarding of the medal on Friday.

Adam Kadyrov gained dubious fame through a video recently published by his father in which he beats and kicks a defenseless man. The victim was a man who was arrested in Volgograd for publicly burning a Koran and later transferred to the Muslim-majority region of Chechnya.

The video sparked discussions and criticism across Russia that Kadyrov was putting himself above Russian law. The Russian authorities rejected calls to initiate criminal proceedings – pointing out, among other things, that Adam Kadyrov was only 15 and therefore not yet of criminal responsibility.

Russian President Vladimir Putin received Ramzan Kadyrov a few days after the scandal. Last year, Kadyrov had three sons, including Adam, pose with weapons in Ukraine. According to him, they also fought there as part of the armed forces sent by Kremlin leader Putin in the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine. Observers, however, expressed doubts that the Kadyrov sons actually took part in real fighting.
