Riot unveiled the dates of his next updates on League of Legends and the launch of the season 12, which is set for January 7, 2022. On this occasion, the classified will resume, and the main regional leagues will resume after a transfer window which has seen many movements. Here are the official resume dates for the Fab Four, as well as for the LFL on the ERL “news” side.

As a reminder, this season again, the best teams from the 12 regional leagues in Spring Split will get a place for the Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) in May. Then, the top teams at the end of the Summer Split will go to the Worlds 2022, in autumn. This season, the tournament will take place in three NA countries, six years after its last US edition.

When does Spring Split 2022 begin?

LEC – League of Legends European Championship

The recovery is stalled for the January 14, 2022 with the group stages and 10 teams, including a newcomer: Team BDS, which takes over the slot of Schalke 04. Former LFL structure, Team BDS will also keep a place in the French championship with its academy. At the end of the groups, double elimination playoffs will take place at studio LEC in Berlin, until April 10, 2022.

LCS – League Championship Series

The NA region takes over February 5, 2022 with the same 10 teams as last year. But the format of the championship is slightly different. The season will begin with the Lock In in LAN at LCS Studios on January 14 (established in 2021) comprising all the teams and a cash prize of $ 150,000. After the final of January 30, the regular season will therefore begin, with the objective of Mid-Season Showdown, the Spring Split playoffs which will end on April 24. The final will be played at NRG Stadium in Houston.

LCK – League of Legends Champions Korea

Korean season resumes January 12, 2022. The same 10 teams as in 2021 will be in the running, with a name change fromAfreeca Freecs who changed partner to join Kwangdong and is therefore renamed Kwangdong Freecs. Format similar to the others: a period of hens until March 20, with the best teams qualifying for the playoffs at the end of Spring Split. The dates of these playoffs are not yet known.

LPL – League of Legends Pro League

The last major region, China, is taking over the January 10, 2022, with several changes in the competing teams. On the one hand Rogue warriors renamed to Anyone’s Legend, on the other the slot of Victory Five is acquired by Ninjas in Pajamas. We also note the rebrand of Suning in Weibo Gaming following the acquisition of the structure by the social media giant. A total of 17 teams qualified for the Spring Split with a group stage until March 20. The best teams go through a two-phase playoff format, first in KotH, then in double elimination, as in 2021.

LFL – French League of Legends

The structure of ERL regions (European regions) are modified for the 2022 season. These competitions, located hierarchically under the LEC, are separated into two: accredited and non-accredited regions. Inasmuch as accredited region (sort of “elite”), the LFL will therefore have 10 teams with a regular season that begins on January 10, 2022 and ends on March 31 with the spring playoffs. The LFL will have three changes: Team BDS Academy who replaces Team BDS who left for LEC, Team Oplon who rises from Div. 2 and Elyandra (also promoted) who is rebranded following its partnership with Mirage.

Its second division will also be made up of 10 teams, and will start on January 17, 2022. We will find IziDream and Team MCES, relegated from LFL, PCS Taran promoted from the Open Tour France, JobLife which takes over the empty slot following the disqualification of Team MCES Academy, Lille Esport which takes over the Solary Academy slot and finally beGenius ESC which takes up that of GameWard Academy.
