Leather leggings have been a good companion for us for a long time, but next year they will finally have their day and new companions are in the starting blocks to make your life even more stylish. You can find out which leather trends we love in 2024 – and how we wear them here.
Tight leather trousers, a white blouse and a short leather jacket on top: for a long time this was our safe bet when we wanted to look cool for everyday life. The look still works, but over the years it has lost some of its shine. The desire for something new is growing and that’s why in spring 2024 there will be four more ways to wear leather or faux leather stylishly.
Leather trends 2024: Wide instead of narrow – wide leather pants are on the rise
Similar to what has already become apparent with jeans, skinny models are losing popularity. But straight-cut trousers or even pants with wide legs are experiencing a rise. When it comes to leather pants, however, it’s not the XL legs that end up in shopping bags a lot, but rather straight-leg models that have a medium to low hip height and a loose fit. This means: The trousers should not be too tight and cut in anywhere, but rather flatter our figure. The classic here is a black model, which is combined with wide knitted sweaters, white tank tops with logo applications or XL blazers. A game of silhouettes is required here: tight tops are combined with wide jackets or sweaters. Add retro sneakers and a baseball cap and the new “casual” everyday look is ready.
Leather coat: The stars’ new it-piece
Kylie Jenner’s first item of clothing from her new fashion brand KHY was a black leather coat, which she launched in cooperation with the fashion label Namilia at the end of October 2023. Irina Shayk also owns an almost floor-length leather coat, as do Nicola Peltz and Kendall Jenner. The latter even uses a cream-colored cape version from Bottega Veneta. You see, Matrix-style coats are making a comeback and that’s because they’re something new. We primarily associate coats with wool and forget that leather is robust and can keep out wind and wet weather well if it is properly cared for. But be careful: leather coats are highlight pieces, they want to be the focus of your look, which is why the styling should be more reduced. Monochrome looks in the color of the coat are ideal for this. If you want to enhance the cool look of your jacket, you can opt for strict sleek hairstyles and sunglasses.
Leather blazer – but different
Where the coat is, the blazer is not far away – and that’s how it will be next year. In 2024, our blazer family will have an addition to our wardrobe with an XL model made of leather. The color is not important; both brown and black blazers are now worn up and down on Instagram. Especially during fashion week in Paris, it became clear how versatile leather trends can really be. From neon green to oversize: everything is included. However, we think leather blazers are particularly nice with wide trousers or short miniskirts, which we make winter-ready with tights. Add a nice pair of boots and a classy mini bag and you’ll look just as stylish as the French women. If you like it a little more classy, you can still achieve the look with one Complete the hair bow.
Almost forgotten: the leather shorts
A piece of clothing that some people will probably still have in their wardrobe is leather shorts. It was trendy in paperbag design a few years ago and will be back in spring 2024. But fashionistas have just rediscovered not only paperbag trousers, but also wide high-waist shorts that are not worn too short. You can create playful and modern looks with fun statement tights from Saint Sass or riding boots. A little tip: If you choose a black trouser model, the variety of looks is much higher. Investing in a nice white or striped blouse is also worth it; it makes the shorts look even more elegant. If you don’t like boots, ballerina flats are also a good option.
