Basketball superstar LeBron James is infected with the coronavirus. A third test gave the Lakers player certainty.
The NBA superstar LeBron James (36) has tested positive for the corona virus. US media report unanimously about this, initially “TMZ Sports”. His club, the Los Angeles Lakers, has not yet confirmed the reports.
According to the reports, James initially tested positive, a subsequent PCR test is said to have turned out negative again. A clarifying third smear, however, clearly confirmed an infection after the laboratory evaluation.
NBA implements strict anti-Covid regime
According to “TMZ”, James is double-vaccinated and so far asymptomatic. In regular series tests, James had already been suspicious, which is why he ends up on the so-called corona list of the NBA and is unable to attend the upcoming Lakers away game in Sacramento.
Now he will not be available for further games due to the positive test. The North American professional league NBA is known for its strict anti-Covid regime with extremely strict rules.
