After the appointment of the first wave of ministers last Thursday, the left wing of the macronie finds itself orphaned. The ministers opposed to the immigration law have in fact packed their boxes and are now thinking about how to influence the rest of the five-year term.
However, there is no shortage of figures from the left in the majority. But no one at this stage stands out to lead the charge. “We don’t have a leader,” one of its members despairs. According to information from Europe 1, the thirty Renaissance deputies opposed to the immigration law must gather this Tuesday morning, just before the group meeting scheduled every Tuesday at the Assembly. Objective: take note of the composition of the government, and try to find a response.
A desire for emancipation… measured
Everyone will be paying attention to what Emmanuel Macron will say this Tuesday evening at a press conference, but also and above all to the announcement of the second part of the government, with expected appointments of delegate ministers this time from the left.
At this stage, the desire for emancipation seems measured. The unity of the majority remains a key element in the eyes of many, even if nothing is certain for the rest of the five-year term. “The appointment of Attal excited us a lot, that of Rachida Dati much less” summarizes an elected official, suspended from the sometimes unpredictable decisions of the head of state.
