Discrimination noted during an SOS-Racisme operation.

“Unbearable”, “structural racism in our society”: several left-wing elected officials rose up on Wednesday against ethnic discrimination at the entrance to private beaches on the Côte d’Azur, observed during an operation by SOS-Racisme .

In a video released the day before by the online media Loopsider, which filmed this operation with a hidden camera, North African and black couples are denied access to two private beaches in Juan-les-Pins (Alpes-Maritimes) because they would be, according to the employees, complete. But a white couple who shows up next is accepted either way. “Unbearable”, tweeted the insubordinate France deputy and Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s campaign director, Manuel Bompard, joined by the LFI deputy Bastien Lachaud: “There is the unbearable reality of racism and discrimination. And there is the fact that it is still necessary today to provide proof of this structural racism in our society, which some still persist in denying”.

We must strengthen the tools for control, monitoring and sanctions”. “Justice must follow suit and heavily punish”, added the boss of EELV Julien Bayou. SOS-Racisme has indicated its intention to file a complaint against the two establishments in question.
