The “Kassensturz” audience tested their sense of justice again – and they were right.

Karl loves animals more than anything. While jogging through the forest, he hears that hunters are out. Karl feels sorry for the deer and rabbits. He wants to protect the animals. In short, he decides to walk through the forest with a toy trumpet and use the noise to scare the animals away.

The forester gets angry: he should stop this nonsense, it’s forbidden. Making noise in the forest is allowed, Karl insists. But is it allowed to make noise to disturb hunters? Can you do that?

The answer

no Making noise in the forest is generally allowed. But if Karl trumpets to stop a hunting party from hunting, he is breaking the law.

Specifically: It is forbidden if Karl runs around in front of a high seat with his trumpet in the field of fire, prevents the hunting party from driving away or snatches the gun from a hunter.

This fact is regulated in the criminal provisions of the Hunting Act (JSG). Article 18 states: “Anyone who intentionally and without authorization (…) obstructs hunting operations will be punished with a fine of up to 20,000 francs.” Karl not only has to reckon with a high fine, but also with a criminal complaint for coercion. There is a risk of a fine or imprisonment.

Disturbances during the hunt do not occur very often, but they do occur from time to time. As a rule, the hunting parties refrain from involving the police in such situations and postpone their hunt to another day.
