Legend lives on – With V8: successor to the Ford Mustang is trotting!

Anyone who feared that the existence of the Ford Mustang Mach-E meant the end of the true Mustang should be pleasantly disappointed. The successor to the modern classic is already in the making. He could even leave the box as early as next September.

The Ford Mustang is still a legend and is still available with powerful combustion engines, including a V8. Though there’s now the Ford Mustang Mach-E, which doesn’t have much in common with the modern classic other than the name. But while many fans feel Ford betrayed the Pony Car by naming the electric SUV, it remains US manufacturer is (also) loyal to its classic: The successor has been confirmed and will make its debut at the Auto Show in Detroit (September 14 to 25) earlier than expected. CEO Jim Farley announced this on Twitter. Fans can expect that the seventh generation will also be available with a manual transmission. A caption in the Twitter announcement uses a six-speed shift pattern. Above all, Farley uses the hashtag #SaveTheManuals, i.e. “save the manual switch holder”. It is also to be expected that four-cylinder and V8 engines will remain. One can only speculate whether they will be electrified in any way. A V8 hybrid with electric all-wheel drive would be conceivable. But that will in all likelihood be the last combustion Mustang.
