Ian Callum, former legendary designer who worked notably for Jaguar and Aston Martin, has just presented his latest creation: the Callum Skye, a unique electric buggy. Let’s make introductions.
In the very closed circle of legendary automobile designers, Ian Callum occupies a special place. Because, the engineer has built a fine reputation over the yearsnotably by designing legendary models for Jaguar and Aston Martin, such as the Jaguar Type-F or even the famous Aston Martin Vanquishwhich you saw for the first time in James Bond: Die Another Day with Pierce Brosnan.
Since then, the man from Scotland has left these two teams to found his own brand of electric car soberly called Callum. And on this Wednesday, November 29, 2023, the renowned designer has just presented his brand new creation: Callum Skye. Behind this name hides a Quite unique off-road electric buggydesigned “for pleasure, without hassle”.

The Callum Skye, a one-of-a-kind electric buggy
Described by its creator as “the most beautiful high-performance multi-terrain vehicle in the world”, Callum Skye intends to mark his difference by its extraordinary design and versatility. First of all, the Skye is a wattage all-terrain vehicle capable to accommodate 4 passengersthanks to its completely closed passenger compartment and “refined”.
The Skye comes in two versions, namely Capable for off-road enthusiasts, and Dynamic for urban users. Both versions are based on self-supporting wheels, a technology that offers a greater range of movement, and therefore better maneuverability on all terrains.
0 to 100 km/h in just 4 seconds
In terms of dimensions, the Skye is quite compact at 4 meters in length and 2 meters in width, all for a weight on the scale of less than 1.2 tonnes. A featherweight that can surely be attributed to its modest battery of 42 kWhwhich allows it to display 270 km of autonomy only. Regarding the other technical characteristics of the car or its performance, Ian Callum still remains a mystery. We just know that the Skye will be able to perform 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
With Callum having signed a partnership with Nyobolt, a company specializing in high performance batteries, we can expect fast recharge times between 6 and 10 minutes. For now, the Skye Callum is currently being tested in Europe and the first prototype should be presented to the world. in spring 2024. Regarding the price, Callum is aiming for £100,000, which is almost €115,000 after conversion.
