Legislative 2022 Bas-Rhin: anti-pass MP Martine Wonner eliminated with 5.38% of the vote

End of the Martine Wonner soap opera at the National Assembly. Noted for her “covidosceptic” positions, this doctor, elected in 2017 near Strasbourg under the Macronist label, represented herself this time under the colors of her party “Together for freedoms”. In the first round of the legislative elections this Sunday, she finally finished fifth in the 4th district of Bas-Rhin with only 5.38% of the vote.

In the second round, voters will have a duel between Macronist candidate Françoise Buffet (31.38%) and Nupes candidate Imane Lahmeur (17.15%).

Psychiatrist by profession, pro-hydroxychloroquine, Martine Wonner had been excluded from the LREM group in May 2020 after her vote against the deconfinement plan. Then, his interventions against the “genetically modified junk” of RNA vaccines or the anti-Covid “dictatorship” had regularly caused a stir.

She had called for “laying siege to parliamentarians”

“I’m not anti-vaccine at all,” she said. “I do not discourage people who want to go get vaccinated”, but the techniques used for messenger RNA vaccines are not “proven, not evaluated”, she said last year.

Shortly after, she had urged, during a demonstration against the health pass alongside Fl, to “lay siege to parliamentarians” and “invade their offices”. She was then ousted from her new parliamentary group, Libertés et Territoires.
