With the approach of the legislative elections, tensions seem to be emerging in the “Common House”, the movement which brings together the different parties of the presidential majority. The ambitions of Edouard Philippe, in particular, would annoy Emmanuel Macron.
The former Prime Minister is seeking to present as many candidates as possible from his new Horizons party on 12th June next. But Emmanuel Macron does not seem to appreciate being dictated to the strategy to follow. “No constituency for Horizons, they are idiots!”, Would have dropped the president in private, according to information from Europe 1.
Emmanuel Macron is not tender with Edouard Philippe, suspected of serving personal interests for the presidential election of 2027. “He owes me everything and he thinks we are equal? He smoked the vapors of the port of Le Havre?”, would have added the president.

“Balances exist in the outgoing majority, and they must be preserved,” reassured Richard Ferrand, LREM president of the National Assembly, Wednesday in the Midi-Libre. “I have respect, friendship and trust for Edouard Philippe. I read things about our differences which are lapping, ”added the macronist.
Edouard Philippe, who aims to embody the right wing of the presidential majority, is playing for the survival of his party. He indeed needs to present a Horizons candidate in at least 50 constituencies to hope to obtain public funding.
