She had come to support the RN candidate in the legislative elections in the 20th district of the department. The unfortunate presidential candidate is running for re-election in the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais.
“A marginal positioned in front of our office threw an egg in the direction of Marine Le Pen who was protected and therefore received nothing,” said Sébastien Chenu, spokesperson for the party. “I was next to her. Things got back to normal immediately (…) everything is fine, not a scratch, not a stain,” he added.
“The egg sent in the direction of Marine Le Pen did not hit her. He crashed into his bodyguard’s hand. She was able to continue the meeting planned with her activists on duty, ”also confirmed the press service of Marine Le Pen. According to a video posted on Twitter, Marine Le Pen lowered her head and hid her face at the time of the shooting as she walked down the street.
The RN candidate in the 20th district of the North, Guillaume Florquin, told AFP that he was going to file a complaint.
