An outgoing RN deputy sparked controversy Thursday evening by pleading for a ban on ministerial positions for all dual nationals. Guest of “The big interview” of Europe 1/CNews this Friday, Marine Le Pen made a clarification and suggests that sanctions will be taken against the parliamentarian
Marine Le Pen wants to put an end to the controversy. This Friday morning on Europe 1, the outgoing National Rally MP returned to the party’s proposal consisting of prohibiting dual nationals from accessing certain strategic positions. An RN parliamentarian put a coin back into the machine Thursday evening by pleading for a ban on ministerial positions for all dual nationals.
Emmanuel Macron himself got involved. “To be able to say this today is a dissolution of minds and consciences and I will never accept it no matter what happens. What is at stake in the uninhibited speech that we have been hearing in recent days says something of a profound betrayal of what our Republic is and its values.”
Sanctions against Roger Chudeau?
The RN deputy in question, Roger Chudeau, acknowledges having formulated a strictly personal opinion and Marine Le Pen stepped up to the plate this Friday morning to explain that the ban on access for dual nationals would be limited to a few dozen extremely sensitive jobs. And suggests that sanctions will be taken against Roger Chudeau.
“We have been attacked a lot on this, I find it quite dishonest since, in fact, it already exists, but it only concerns around thirty positions, no more. And, of course, it absolutely does not apply to elected positions or some other position”, she declared, before clearly disavowing her parliamentary colleague who was nevertheless cited among the potential future ministers of National Education. But she explains that two days before the election, it was too late to withdraw the RN nomination.
