Legislative: filmed in a nightclub, a Nupes candidate assures that he snorted… Doliprane

Léon Thébault, candidate for the legislative elections in Rodez in Aveyron, responded to attacks by Damien Rieu, who posted a video on Twitter showing the Nupes candidate snorting white powder. The interested party claims for his part that it was a crushed powdered doliprane.

It is an embarrassing affair for the New People’s Ecological and Social Union (Nupes) five days before the first round of the legislative elections. On a video posted on Twitter on Sunday by Damien Rieu, spokesperson for Éric Zemmour’s campaign, we can see a young man sniffing a white powder, accompanied by a message: “Good evening Léon Thébault, is that you? “

Doliprane crushed into powder

Indeed, on the video, it is indeed Léon Thébault, candidate in the elections for Nupes in the district of Rodez in Aveyron. The interested party himself confirmed the information on Monday at Press Center. But contrary to what the video suggests and as many Internet users have assumed, he claims that it is not cocaine, but… Doliprane crushed into powder.

“Yes, I am aware of the publication of this video and, since then, I have suffered a wave of harassment and threats. This video is old. It dates from when I was in first class”, indicated Léon Thébault to our colleagues. “We were at a party with friends, and it wasn’t about drugs, it was about a crushed, powdered Doliprane. It’s the kind of stupid things you can do when you’re a teenager and in the evening.”

A planned complaint

The 21-year-old said he was studying the possibility of filing a complaint, denouncing a political maneuver by his opponents. “We see what the far right is capable of smearing the other candidates,” he added.
