Prime Minister Gabriel Attal denounced Friday in Marseille “two extreme blocs which feed each other” and for whom “hatred would be an electoral fuel”, targeting La France insoumise and the National Rally.

“Today there are three blocs, including two extreme blocs which feed off each other, because they all fuel on the divisions between the French, on the stigmatization of a part of the French, not the same every time,” said the head of government. He was traveling to Marseille to support two candidates from the presidential majority in the legislative elections of June 30 and July 7, including Sabrina Agresti-Roubache, Secretary of State in charge of the city and close to the Macron couple, in the running to save her seat in the 1st constituency of Bouches-du-Rhône.
“La France insoumise fuels the National Rally and the National Rally fuels La France insoumise,” insisted Gabriel Attal. “They are all betting on the idea that the French people can be disunited, (…) that hatred would be an electoral fuel”, he continued, estimating that “a majority of French people do not want to be caught in this pincer.
“The only useful vote to prevent extremes”
“We will have to fight from June 30, a lot will be at stake in the first round,” continued the Prime Minister, assuring that “the only useful vote to prevent extremes is the Together for the Republic candidates” and that “the French people aspire to unity.
“The French tell us, we see it in the polls too, in a second round between the Nupes candidates and the National Rally, it is almost always the National Rally which wins. In a second round, between the Ensemble pour the Republic and the National Rally, it is the Together for the Republic candidates who win,” he argued.
