Legislative: Nathalie Elimas, former minister of Macron, presents herself as a dissident in Val-d’Oise

While the presidential party on Wednesday invested a candidate in the constituency of the former minister accused of harassment, the latter announced that she would still be a candidate.

From minister to… dissident. While the presidential party invested this Wednesday Estelle Folest in the 6th constituency of Val-d’Oise, stronghold of former minister Nathalie Elimas, landed from the government in March after accusations of harassment, the latter affirms at Figaro that she will still be a candidate. In dissident, therefore. “I’m going to campaign”she says on a daily basis.

Despite the facts of which she is accused, the former Secretary of State in charge of Priority Education explains that she does not understand the decision of Renaissance and her party, the Modem, not to support her for a potential re-election. “I deplore the attitude of the majority and of the Modem. I have always been loyal and I remain so. I am an outgoing MP, a former minister, I have always lived in the constituency: I am at home and I am maintaining my candidacy”, she squeaks next to the Figaro. Especially since the regional councilor of Ile-de-France disputes all the allegations made against her. She speaks “in charge of investigation”of “media trial”. Above all, she denounces “different treatment” compared to certain cases of candidates invested by the majority for the next legislature. Like that of Jérôme Peyrat, in the Dordogne, despite his conviction for violence against his ex-spouse, or that of Thierry Solère in the Hauts-de-Seine, indicted for thirteen counts, including “tax evasion”.

In March, Nathalie Elimas had to leave the government when she was the subject of an administrative investigation for moral harassment. Near Freedin January, one of his collaborators explained for example: “We show that we are fighting against school bullying and we are harassed morning, noon, and evening.” Agence France-Presse (AFP) had reported that the Paris prosecutor’s office had then opened an investigation entrusted to the Brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person (BRDP).
