Legislative: on the right, LR elected officials form an alliance with the majority while Ciotti contests his exclusion

The other Republican camp counterattacks. “Barring extremes”

The outgoing deputy Philippe Juvin thus signs a joint press release with Hervé Marseille, the president of the UDI, and Gabriel Attal. He announces creating a republican arc to “block the extremes, from the right to the left”. All will present themselves under the banner “Together for the Republic”.

In Val-de-Marne, the mayor of Haÿ-les-Roses, Vincent Jeanbrun, strongly opposed to the rapprochement between LR and the RN, should not have a majority candidate facing him. Guilhem Carayon, the president of young LR, and close to Éric Ciotti, denounces a double standard and in turn calls for the exclusion of these candidates from the party.

“Policy of power grab”

Meanwhile, Eric Ciotti is still contesting his exclusion from the party, pronounced on Wednesday. The hearing is still in progress as of early Friday afternoon. The person’s lawyer denounced a “coup policy” carried out by the rest of the party. “Never have I pleaded a case with so many irregularities. The political bureau met in defiance of the statutes,” he said. The defense also invokes statutes. “The national council determines the political orientations of the movement and the president ensures the execution of the decisions. Eric Ciotti therefore did not have the power to make this decision.”

The legal battle is therefore in full swing and a new political bureau met in the morning this Friday to confirm, almost unanimously, the exclusion voted on Wednesday. More than 100 votes including that of a journalist from the online media “Frontière” who managed to integrate videoconferencing to vote and point out the regularity of this election.
