Legislative results 2022: at least five triangular expected in the second round

According to the first counts, candidates Together, Nupes and RN will compete in five constituencies on Sunday, June 19.

There was only one triangular in 2017. And for good reason, the rules are strict. To access the second round of legislative elections, candidates must obtain at least 12.5% of the votes of registered voters. If the abstention is around 50%, as is the case this Sunday, it is therefore around 25% of the votes that must be obtained to qualify for the second round. Five years ago, only the first constituency of Aube saw three candidates (LREM, LR and FN) compete for a Macronist victory in the second round. In 2012, there were 34. This Sunday, at least five constituencies seem concerned – out of 577 in total -, each time with candidates Together, Nupes and RN.

Philippe Juvin on waivers in the Hauts-de-Seine

The LR mayor of La Garenne-Colombes and unsuccessful candidate for the Republican primary, Philippe Juvin, finished in second position in the 3rd district of Hauts-de-Seine, with 31.14% of the votes cast. In front of him, Aurélie Taquillain (Ensemble), obtains 32.40% of the votes. The Nupes candidate, Sara Tij, also manages to qualify, with 23.10% of the vote, or 12.52% of those registered.

A tight second lap in the Tarn

In the 2nd constituency of Tarn, the Nupes candidate, Karen Erodi, came first with 29.91% of the votes cast. However, she is followed very closely by the candidate for the presidential majority, Marie-Christine Verdier-Jouclas (28.34%). Less than 1000 votes separate the two women. The RN candidate, Julien Bacou, manages to qualify with 23.68% of the vote.

The National Rally in force in the Nièvre

In Nièvre, the RN candidate Julien Guibert comes first with 27.8% of the votes cast. He will face Patrice Perrot (Ensemble), who gathered 26.75% of the votes, as well as Marie Anne Guillemain (Nupes), in third place with 24.31%.

Push of the RN in two constituencies of Lot-et-Garonne

In the 1st district of Lot-et-Garonne, which notably covers part of the city of Agen, candidate Michel Lauzzana (Together) qualified with 29.64% of the votes cast, but he is closely followed by Sébastien Delbosq (RN), at 27.87 %. The Nupes candidate, Maryse Combres, is also part of the eligible trio, with 26.21% of the vote.

In the 2nd district of Lot-et-Garonne, RN candidate Hélène Laporte won 30.55% of the vote and was several points ahead of her two opponents. On June 19, she will face the candidate of Nupes, Christophe Courregelongue (qualified with 26.03% of the vote) and that of Ensemble, Alexandre Freschi (25.62%).

Between the two rounds, if none of the qualified candidates withdraws in favor of another, the voters will therefore have to choose between three ballot papers next Sunday. The outcome of the election in these five constituencies therefore appears uncertain to say the least.
