Legislative results 2022: Zemmour, Caron, Consigny … Mixed results for the exes of “We are not lying”


Three former columnists of the show were running for a deputy seat. Only one of them could be elected, given the results of the first round.

Of the approximately 6,923 candidates who stood for the 2022 legislative elections this Sunday, June 12, three are ex-columnists of the old program “We are not lying”. Invested by parties at odds with each other, Éric Zemmour, Aymeric Caron and Charles Consigny show a mixed record in the first round.

Unfortunate presidential candidate (7.07%), the nationalist Éric Zemmour was eliminated from the start in the fourth district of Var (23.19%), beaten by his opponents LREM (28.51%) and RN (24.74%). Worse, the ex-controversy sees his young Reconquest party! fail to qualify in the second round the least candidate in the 551 constituencies where he appeared.

Conversely, the anti-species activist Aymeric Caron is in favorable ballot in the 18th district of Paris. Opposed to the outgoing Macrono-Philippist deputy Pierre-Yves Bournazel, the representative of Nupes won 45.05% of the vote, against 35.57% for his opponent. The two men will face each other on Sunday, June 19, for the second round.

Finally, the lawyer Charles Consigny fails to reach the final. Support for Valérie Pécresse during the presidential campaign, the LR candidate, who came from civil society, won only 12.77% of the vote in the 4th district of Yvelines. He is far behind the outgoing macronist Marie Lebec (42.34%), and the contender Nupes (24.93%).
