LEGO 2K Drive is announced in pictures and will be released on May 19

While waiting for a trailer which will not be long in coming, 2K Games has entrusted the site IGN (which seems to have published a day too early) with the task of sharing a first gallery of screenshots. What to get a good idea of the direction that this open world racing game is taking, a genre in full swing with titles like The Crew Motorfest, Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown and of course the Forza Horizon franchise.

LEGO The Crew Unlimited Horizon

Playable alone or with other pilots (6 players online, 2 players in split screen), LEGO 2K Drive will feature a variety of biomes and an array of vehicles ranging from asphalt-swallowing speedsters to off-road cars and boats. The game world will be littered with races, mini-games, challenges and other items to collect or destroy, all with a story told as a backdrop. LEGO obliges, customization will be an important aspect of the game, with a choice of more than 1,000 LEGO pieces to build the vehicle of your dreams.

2K Games and Visual Concepts have already thought of the long term, as evidenced by the presence of a “year 1 driving pass” included among other bonuses in the Awesome and Awesome Rivals editions. Also sold separately, this Driving Pass will introduce a new biome as well as four seasons of rolling content, each with new vehicles and themes. While LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has established itself as one of the biggest commercial successes of 2022, 2K can undoubtedly nurture some ambitions with its first LEGO project.
