LEGO: a brick-built Atari 2600 full of retro references announced and dated, but it will be expensive

In addition to a range Super Mario which continues to expand, LEGO has another beautiful project planned for soon in connection with the world of video games. All 10306 formalized today will indeed be a replica of the Atari 2600, the game console released in 1977, in line with the Nintendo Entertainment System proposed in 2020.

The 2,532-piece set will measure 33x22x8cm when assembled, replicating the machine’s iconic shape, right down to the controller and power cable. The object will not offer a video interface, but will still invite us to mount fake cartridges.Asteroids, Adventure and Centipede, supports adapted to them, as well as 3D structures inspired by the retro aesthetics of these. As a bonus, the front of the console can be slid open to reveal a hidden 80s-style games room, complete with lots of details like a retro phone, TV, posters and a boombox.

As with the NES, its price will be high: you will have to pay €239.99 to add the beast to your collection. The release date of LEGO Atari 2600 is set for August 1, 2022, and you can pre-order your copy on the official store.
