LEGO formalizes two sets as gigantic as they are magnificent

LEGO formalizes a beautiful set that leaked earlier in the month. It’s simply sumptuous and makes you want to fall in love. See instead.

LEGO is set to once again enrich the world of building and space exploration enthusiasts with two impressive new sets: the Artemis Space Launch System and a Milky Way wall art, both aimed primarily at adults. After the leak, it’s time to make it official. This is what we know.

LEGO Artemis, a real beauty

Set for official release on May 18, with early access starting May 15 for LEGO Insiders members, the Artemis Space Launch System will be one of the most detailed NASA-inspired models to date. Made up of 3,600 parts, this kit allows you to build the Artemis I rocket as well as its launch platform. The model stands out with details like a retractable walkway and other features that make it primarily a collector’s item. This set will be available for $259.99.

In a more artistic register, LEGO also offers a set allowing you to recreate the Milky Way. This 3,091-piece kit offers an immersive building experience that culminates in a 3D wall decoration. Builders can assemble five panels, each depicting different astronomical features such as Trappist-1, the Pleiades, the Crab Nebula and the Pillars of Creation. Each panel is accompanied by an instruction booklet with a QR code which, once scanned, provides access to enriching information and an exclusive soundtrack about the Milky Way.

These two sets aren’t just LEGO; they offer a gateway to astronomy and space, themes that continue to captivate and inspire. The Artemis Space Launch System set enriches LEGO’s collection of space models, which already welcomed the Space Shuttle Discovery in 2021. As for the Milky Way artwork, it combines education and decoration, thus offering a unique and engaging way to discover our galaxy.
