Lego pushes back collaboration with Overwatch 2

Another blow for Activision Blizzard which sees its partnership with Lego rejected. This decision, taken by Lego, is in connection with the accusations of discrimination and sexual harassment that Activision Blizzard has recently been subjected to. Although the video game company announced in October 2021 that it was taking drastic measures to prevent and combat harassment at work, Lego has nonetheless decided to postpone the release of the Lego Overwatch 2 “Titan” set, initially scheduled for February 1, 2022.

Until when has the exit of the set been postponed? No further details on this subject. However, Lego wrote in a statement: “We are currently re-examining our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address claims regarding workplace culture, particularly the treatment of female colleagues and the creation of a diverse and inclusive environment.“.

The backlash avalanche therefore continues for Activision Blizzard. Last week, Xbox director Phil Spencer mentioned in an interview with New York Times to want “change the way things are done“with the accused mark, without giving further details.

Although Lego has collaborated with Overwatch 2 in the past, this profitable partnership may well end. To all Overwatch fans who are still impatiently awaiting the Lego Titan, arm yourself with a lot of patience.

As Overwatch 2’s release date has once again been delayed, Blizzard appears to be looking into a mobile version of its FPS.
