According to a report by Polygon, who was able to speak with several members of TT Games, in charge of development, human management was not the best, especially in the early years. In development for five years, the game reportedly suffered from numerous problems, due to management requesting new gameplay mechanics, then not approving them or requesting new changes, thus increasing the workload of the development teams. The other big problem in the development of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga would have been the choice of the game engine. To limit costs, TT Games chose to create its game on a new engine, which had not been tested, instead of falling back on Unreal Engine, despite the concern of the developers about the instability of the engine. This would have caused many delays and crashed regularly, causing the teams to lose considerable time.
Contacted by Polygon, TT Games explained that the studio was committed to ” creating a respectful, fair and inclusive workplace for every employee “and that many efforts” have been rolled out in recent years, with new studio management and backing from Warner Bros.
