Lego in video games is nothing new. However, even if the license has a very high popularity rating, the trailer for the LEGO 2K Drive racing game is still raising the level a little and it risks driving all AFOL (Adult Fan Of Lego) crazy of course, but all fans of small plastic bricks in general. LEGO 2K Drive is the first fruit of the collaboration between Lego inevitably and the developer 2K which also manages the sagas NBA2K, Borderlands but also games Marvel’s Midnight Suns Or Sid Meier’s Civilization VI and many, many other titles.

LEGO 2K Drive

LEGO 2K Drive takes place in an open world that players can explore according to their desires, following the common thread of a main story which must lead them to the conquest of the celestial trophy. During their wanderings, on land and at sea, they will have the opportunity to stop in their main quest to take up many challenges, recover a plethora of objects to collect… or just test their newly built machine. Because it is one of the strengths of LEGO 2K Drive. Unlike the DLC LEGO Speed Champions of Forza Horizon 4, you can indeed assemble the bricks to create your own unique car, from scratch; the only limits, aside from the promised thousand different pieces, seem to be those of the imagination.

An offline multiplayer mode is planned to explore the different regions of Bricklandia for two in cooperative mode or to fight on the different routes. Obviously, an online mode is also in the game, no doubt oriented towards competition. If we are to believe the developers, power-ups will spice up the races, like the famous green, red or blue shells of Mario Kart. As always, we are also promised “incredible depth of gameplay and visual rendering [pour] a LEGO driving game“.
