The Chinese brand Xiaomi today announces the arrival of two new smartphones: the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro, a logical continuation of the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro, with similar philosophies, and which are also a continuation of the Xiaomi 13 , 13 Pro and 13 Ultra.

67 W of charging power and a SoC “ ultra » for the Xiaomi 13T

We know that Xiaomi relies heavily on charging power to stand out. When the Pro version goes up to 120 W of power, the Xiaomi 13T is not “ than to » 67 W. Result: 42 minutes to go from 0 to 100% battery, which looks good. Talking about the battery, it has a capacity of 5000 mAh. On autonomy, the manufacturer indicates up to 16 hours of video playback.

What will precisely lower the battery level is undoubtedly the onboard chip: it is the Dimensity 8200 Ultra SoC from MediaTek, engraved in 4 nm. It is supported by 8 or 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM depending on the version, and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

A promising 144 Hz Amoled panel

The screen of the Xiaomi 13T may tempt you: a 6.67-inch Oled panel with a 20:9 ratio, offering FHD+ definition. The icing on the cake is undoubtedly the refresh rate which can go up to 144 Hz. The maximum brightness also seems to be there, since Xiaomi announces 2600 cd/m² peak.

This Xiaomi smartphone is naturally Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and Dolby Atmos compatible (thanks to two stereo speakers). On the connectivity side, the 13T is equipped with Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4 as well as two SIM ports.

It’s still Leica that takes care of the photography on the Xiaomi 13

As with many other manufacturers, it is an optics manufacturer that takes care of the photography on the Xiaomi 13T. We thus find:

  • A 50 Mpx, f/1.9 main photo sensor, with 1.22 µm pixels;
  • A 12 Mpx, f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle sensor;
  • A 50 Mpx x2 telephoto lens, f/2.2;
  • A 20 Mpx, f/2.2 selfie sensor.

Note that this is the same photo configuration found on the Xiaomi 13T. A configuration that represents a paradigm shift: the Xiaomi 12T had a 108 Mpx photo sensor, while its Pro version had a 200 Mpx one. Xiaomi seems to be going backwards in the race for the number of megapixels. Another new feature on this smartphone: the arrival of IP68 certification, which allows the smartphone to resist dust and immersion in water (under certain conditions).

Price and availability of the Xiaomi 13T

As with the Xiaomi 13T Pro, three colors will be available with the Xiaomi 13T Pro: blue, green and black. Only one configuration will be offered in France, with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for 649.90 euros.
