Lemmy Kilmister: The Motörhead legend receives a biopic

He was a co-founder, bass player and singer of the rock band Motörhead. Now Lemmy Kilmister (1945-2015) has been given his own film. The biopic about the rock star who died in 2015 is simply called "Lemmy", as the US industry newspaper "Deadline" reports. The film is supposed to give a glimpse behind the facade of the musician who consumed cigarettes and whiskey for breakfast after getting up.

"Everything you've heard about Lemmy is probably true … not because he used rock'n'roll clichés, but because he created them," says screenwriter Greg Olliver. In addition, the career of the "Ace of Spades" singer is shown: From the beginnings with Jimi Hendrix (1942-1970, "Hey Joe") to the founding of Motörhead. Production is scheduled to start in early 2021. The film will then be presented in Cannes.
