Revolution! She designed the first jerseys for the FC Bayern women’s team

This has never happened before! For the first time in FC Bayern’s club history, the players will wear a jersey designed specifically for them. The new dress was designed by Lena Gercke.
This news hits like a bicycle kick from the 16er! The FC Bayern women are getting new jerseys – their very own. Model and entrepreneur Lena Gercke, 36, is partly responsible for this. The owner of the “LeGer” brand is among the jersey designers and, together with main supplier Adidas, is designing the first exclusive women’s team dress in the club’s 54-year history. The idea behind it: The jersey should symbolize the self-determination of women’s football.
Lena Gercke is “super proud”
What can’t she actually do? Lena Gercke is a successful entrepreneur, mother of two and model – and now also a pioneering jersey designer and supporter of German women’s football. The winner of the first season of “Germany’s Next Top Model” is making a statement with the new outfit for the record champions’ women’s team. “I am super proud and grateful to be part of this long overdue milestone!” says the Marburg resident in the accompanying press release.
And Bayern player Linda Dallmann, 29, is also quoted in a statement from the club: “We are pleased to be playing in a jersey designed especially for us for the first time in the history of FC Bayern. This shows the growing importance of women’s football. It would be nice to see as many of our fans as possible wearing this jersey in the stadium soon.” The color of the new jersey is simple: salmon-colored stripes adorn a black fabric. The work was written jointly with the team, as the players were involved in its creation.
Soon on the field: first use of the new jersey
In keeping with the week of International Women’s Day, Lena Gercke published a photo of herself with players Sarah Zadrazil, 31, and Linda Dallmann on Monday, March 4th. The team jersey will be available for fans to buy from March 8th. As the club announced, the footballers will appear in the new outfit for the first time in the game against RB Leipzig Women a week later, on March 17th.
