Lena Meyer-Landrut is back! After a break she is now releasing the song “Strip”.
On June 3, 2021 at 11:59 p.m., a song went online on Spotify that many have longingly been waiting for: Lena Meyer-Landrut, 30, is releasing new music after two years. The singer wrote on Instagram about the release of “Strip”: “Finally. I’m looking forward to it and I hope you like the song at least as much as I do;)”. That seems to be the case: The mini-video that Lena posted about her words and in which the first sounds of “Strip” can be heard was viewed over 100,000 times. Users clicked “Like” 22,000 times.
Lena thanks for the support in her stories: “I already got so many great, dear Happy Release Day messages today. I am very happy and inspired and I am very happy that new music is out.”

In the 2 minute and 46 second long good mood song, Lena wishes for less “drama”, “assessment” and “fake compliments”, but more “self-confidence” and the courage to be yourself. With the slippery-seeming title “Strip” is not meant to undress from clothes – but from the expectation of others. “If I don’t fit into your scheme, you can cross me off your list”, Lena sings and adds: “I’m not sorry, I am what I am.” All it takes is “love love love love love.”
Fans are thrilled
The listeners of “Strip” shower Lena Meyer-Landrut with praise in the comments. “I love this song and the vibe. Ahhhhh, it’s so great. Happy Release,” writes one female fan. Another says: “I had it for breakfast first, love it”. Other enthusiastic comments are: “I’m listening the whole time and it’s a catchy tune, you have to admit” and “I can’t anymore. I’ve been listening in a loop since midnight.”
From autumn 2019 to May 2021, Lena Meyer-Landrut had more or less said goodbye to social media and only reported sporadically. Clearly: from now on she is back in showbiz!
