Lena Meyer-Landrut
Singer takes time out for her health
Sad news from Lena Meyer-Landrut: She also has to cancel her concerts in Stuttgart and Echternach for health reasons.
Lena Meyer-Landrut (33) canceled all remaining concerts of her tour for her album “Loyal to myself” on Wednesday (24 July). “Unfortunately, we also have to cancel the last dates in Stuttgart and Echternach,” it says in an Instagram story on the musician’s account. Most of the shows were almost sold out and it is therefore all the more painful to have to disappoint so many people, explains “Team Lena” in the statement.
In another story, the singer spoke out in an audio message: “It breaks my heart and I wish so much that I didn’t have to record this.” She also had to cancel the rest of the shows this year for health reasons. “I wanted to at least make a little voice message so that you don’t just get an impersonal text, but also a few words from me.” She had so much enjoyed playing the past live shows for the fans, which she put on with her crew and the band with so much passion night after night.
With “severe pain cramps” to the emergency room
Meyer-Landrut also talks about her health problems. On Sunday, for the third time in recent weeks, she ended up in the emergency room shortly before the show “with severe pain cramps. Each time it hits me and my crew and the band and of course you fans totally unexpectedly and each time it is a shock that is not nice for anyone.” That is why she now has to pull the ripcord. Canceling shows “just sucks, it feels totally wrong, but there is no other way,” the singer emphasizes. She is now taking a short break and looking after her health “and then I’ll be back,” she promises. “Have a nice summer.”
The concerts were planned for July 26 in Stuttgart and July 27 in Echternach. Lena Meyer-Landrut had previously had to deal with several setbacks and cancel concerts in Regensburg, Ansbach, Munich and Wangen due to health problems.
