For the twelfth anniversary of her ESC victory, Lena Meyer-Landrut remembers the special moment on Instagram.

Germany last won the Eurovision Song Contest on May 29, 2010. With the song “Satellite”, Lena Meyer-Landrut (31) sang her way into the hearts of thousands of Europeans. Twelve years later, the singer celebrates the anniversary of the special moment with a throwback photo on Instagram.

The musician wrote “Today 12 years ago” and added six colorful hearts to the picture that shows the then 19-year-old in a tight black dress with red lipstick on the ESC stage.

“More than grateful” for the ESC win in 2010

“I am more than grateful for what this day has given me, what it has made me, what it has taught me,” reflected Meyer-Landrut. Jokingly, she closed the post with the words: “Today is a mini holiday for me.”

After winning the “Our Star for Oslo” casting show created by Stefan Raab (55), Lena Meyer-Landrut competed in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in the Norwegian capital. There she received 246 points and thus reached first place in the overall ranking. The singer has now released five studio albums and launched her own fashion label “A Lot Less” in 2021.
